Podcasting right now is one of the most engaging and accessible ways to reach a wide audience. In this Adobe premiere tutorial, I’m going to offer some directions for getting comfortable with editing your recorded content into a final episode, and applying the mastering techniques to give your podcast a professional sound quality.
First, let’s import in our raw recorded sound files. In the top right corner, select file, then select import, and here you can search for the recorded files in your folders.
Now that we’ve located our files, we have some mastering, filters, and level adjustment we need to do to make them sound their best.
Once we’ve importedour files there’s a little shortcut technique we can use to automatically get rid of a lot of silent pauses from our recordings.
Now we reach the place where editing becomes a real skill. The process of editing is largely one of cleaning and synchronizing the timeline, making sure that recordings between different speakers follow one another, so that pauses between dialogue or statements seem natural.
If you are interested in adding sound effects or music, this can also be done by importing files and placing them in the right place on the timeline. Once you finish arranging the timeline, it’s time to adjust the final levels for the whole file and compress your episode down into an mp3.
